Terms
Last updated 29 July 2026
These are the terms for using the Helpcheckout app. Using the app means you accept them.
What the service is
Helpcheckout lets you photograph a cart, review the items it identifies, and pay from a balance you loaded in the app. It is software. We do not own, stock or operate any store, and we do not sell you the groceries.
Your account
You need a verified email address to use the app. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We can suspend an account that is being used to defraud a store or another shopper.
Your wallet
Money you load sits as a balance on your account and is spent when you confirm a cart. The balance is held and adjusted on our server. If you link a bank account, that link is handled by Plaid and we never see your bank credentials. Ask us for a refund of an unspent balance and you will get it.
What the scanner does and does not promise
The scanner reads a photograph. It will sometimes miss an item, add one that is not there, or pick the wrong version of a product. That is why the app shows you the whole list, with the alternatives, before any money moves.
You are responsible for the list you confirm. Check it. If a line is wrong, fix it in the app before paying rather than after. If you pay for a cart that was wrong and you did not catch it, write to us and we will sort it out with you.
Prices come from a retailer product catalog. A store's shelf price can differ from a catalog price. Where they differ, the store's price at the register is the real one.
Using it honestly
Do not photograph a cart that is not yours, do not try to leave items out of the frame on purpose, and do not use the app to take anything you have not paid for. Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse engineer the service.
Showing your receipt
A store may ask to see your receipt and check your cart on the way out. The app keeps an itemized receipt on screen for exactly that. This is between you and the store.
Availability
Helpcheckout is early software. It can be slow, it can be down, and features can change or be removed. We do not promise uninterrupted service.
Ending it
You can delete your account from Settings at any time. Any unspent balance is refundable to you. We can close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you spent through the app in the three months before the claim. Nothing here removes rights you have that cannot legally be removed.
Changes
If these terms change we will update the date at the top, and we will tell you in the app if the change matters.
